'As The World Turns' Classics On DVD‏

In April of 2010 I enjoyed my scenes on “As The World Turns” opposite my friend and “Bold and the Beautiful” actress Lesli Kay, who did double duty, as Felicia Forrester on “B&B” on the west coast, while jet setting to the east coast’s Brooklyn, New York (JC Studios) where “As The World Turns” was filmed. Lesli and I worked opposite Victor Slezak, one of the most prolific and talented character actors in the industry, and he played sleaze ball U.S. Senator Silas Whitman, Lesli played Molly, the intrepid reporter for Kim’s Oakdale, Illinois television station and I played a competing reporter, who wanted to get the first interview with the newly released from federal prison Silas Whitman.

Well, in addition to Silas, we all know that Oakdale was filled over the five plus decade history with bad guys; villains we call them. Now “ATWT” fans can watch a four-disc DVD collection of “20 Classic Episodes of As The World Turns,” which has been made available to soap fans. The set features memorable moments from “Secrets and Scandals,” “Great Weddings,” “Oakdale Through the Years” and “Villains and Vixens.”

Soap Classics President Mark Yates says, “We really do believe the value is in the home entertainment market.” How right he is. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear from a fan on Facebook or by email or on Twitter how much they miss this long running drama. I enjoyed working with Lesli, Victor and legendary star Eileen Fulton and I did the debut episode of the first season of “Hollywood Classics,” opposite Lassie! Eileen, Kathy Hays, who used to be married to my late client Glenn Ford, Don Hastings and so many other actors are missed by “World Turns” viewers today.

Good news! The company plans on releasing even more episodes in the future, so be sure to pick up your set at www.Soapclassics.com or at Amazon.com. Look for soap giants like “Search For Tomorrow,” “Texas,” “Edge of Night,” and “Another World” to be released in the near future.
