Beverly Hill based legal icon and civil rights advocate attorney Gloria Allred vows to continue her advocacy for client Sharon Bialeck, who is the fourth woman of five currently accusing Republican party (Tea Party) candidate for President, Herman Cain. Cain has been a Tea Party darling, espousing his social conservative views, and like many social conservatives within the Republican party, he has been accused of actually having less than stellar values than those he speaks loudly about. Republican party presidential candidate Newt Gingrich faces the same issues, but has not been accused of sexual misconduct in this current run for office.
On Tuesday Highlight Hollywood spoke with famed victims advocate attorney Gloria Allred, who has been accused by Cain supporters of getting involved with this case because of her support for democrats and President Obama. As Allred explained, she has also gone up against democratic politicians on many occasions and supported some republican politicians as well. In fact attorney Allred went up against Congressman Anthony Weiner, and stood by one of the women he alleged sent sexually charged messages to and within 24 hours the NY Congressman resigned. She also spoke out vehemently against then President Bill Clinton after he lied to the American people about an affair he had with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
Whenever Attorney Allred stands by an unpopular client, her detractors always make her the target, but she is willing to do so for her clients. Dr. Martin Luther King was also attacked for fighting for civil rights for all Americans in the 1960s. Allred however continues the fight against powerful Herman Cain, and attorney Allred told Highlight Hollywood on Tuesday, “It is time to hold politicians to a much higher standard. We need to know the truth about those that are running for office. We cannot afford to once again election someone to office who will ignore the law, take advantage of those without power and who will abuse the opportunities that the office of President provides. Enough is enough. We have to fight back-that is what our client is doing.”
When Highlight Hollywood spoke with Sharon Bialeck, she stood her ground and her story did not change. “He said he would show me where the National Restaurant Association headquarters were and then drove past the offices. He parked the car down the block. I thought that we were going into the offices so that he could show me around. I was wearing a black pleaded skirt, a blouse and a suit jacket. He had a suit jacket without a tie. Instead of going in, he suddenly reached over and put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals. He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch. I was surprised and shocked and said, what are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend. This is not what I came here for. Mr. Cain said, ‘You want a job, right?’ I asked him to stop and he did. I asked him to take me back to my hotel and he did,” said Cain accuser Sharon Bialeck.
Once she returned home to New Jersey, Bialeck reported to her boyfriend that Cain had been sexually inappropriate to her. She is a professional woman, but her credibility is now under attack by Cain and his supporters, which may create more trouble for the republican presidential candidate, since Bialeck and another accuse may soon have a joint press conference to further tell and clarify their accounts. Cain has continued to deflect the accusations by firstly accusing a Perry aide for leaking the story to the media, and also on Tuesday, Cain’s story changed and he now claims it is a plot by the democratic party. Former George W. Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer said, “I don’t see any evidence of this being a Democratic plot. Candidate Cain must do a better job at explaining himself and answering to these charges.”
“If all of these allegations by all the women who have been reported to have made them are true then I, for one, am disgusted at Mr. Cain’s serial sexual harassment of women because Mr. Cain while running for president is actively lying to Americans, showing disdain for our common sense and intellect and showing that he could care less about the impact of his behavior on the dignity of these women,” Gloria Allred told Highlight Hollywood.
Herman Cain will face the media again tonight (Wednesday) when he attends the latest Republican Presidential Primary debate. Gloria Allred has continued to fight for those who have been marginalized and she says that she will continue to do so.
