It’s hard to imagine that incredible film phenomenon like Star Wars and Saturday Night Fever are 35 years old. 1977,The year that saw both of these iconic and groundbreaking films hit the big screen. On the small screen were hits like Three’s Company, Charlie’s Angels and Alice. In those days, television held its own against the cinematic onslaught of big screen Hollywood. In Those days, it seemed anyone who was serious about an acting career sought to do Films and not so much TV. Today, The landscape has changed. Now, television, including Pay-Cable network giants like HBO and Showtime air lots more interesting programs and have much more creative and poetic license than Broadcast TV or even the movies, in Some cases. 35-years ago, TV was quite different in that both the programs and the demographics were different. The Southern California Motion Picture Council presents their 76th Annual Saint Valentine’s Day Ball and Golden Halo Award Presentation. BARBARA VAN ORDEN began in the Catskill Mountains at Grossingers Singers Hotel, opening for many of the greats, such as Milton Berle, Don Rickles and Red Buttons, to name a few. She went on to do all of the Playboy Clubs working with talents such as Buddy Hackett, Morey Amsterdam and Soupy Sales.
