According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lord of the Rings prequel earned $32.9 million. The film has now grossed approximately $222.7 million in North America and $600 million globally. Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained came in second at the box office with $30.7 million. Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway‘s Les Miserables took third place with $28 million.
