The handsome Italian star Larry Manetti, formerly known as Rick on CBS’s 1980s hit “Magnum PI” is headed back to his old stomping grounds. But, no, “Magnum’s” not being remade, Larry confirmed exclusively to Highlight Hollywood, that he will be guest starring on an upcoming episode of the acclaimed CBS series “Hawaii Five-O.” This is what we know so far. The episode is titled “Pa’ ani’, and Larry will be playing Nicky “The Kid” Demarco, a local lounge legend who sings at Tiki Lounge. Highlight Hollywood has found out that he will be helping with a major “Five-O” case.
In the upcoming episode, Larry is the nightclub owner of The Tiki Lounge, and I’m excited to report, that he’ll be an elegant dresser, and Larry confirmed he will be singing our old friend Frank Sinatra’s song, “I Got You Under My Skin!” A source close to “Hawaii Five-O” tells Highlight Hollywood, “Larry’s character (Nicky) is introduced to the two leads (Alex and Scott). Their fathers used to watch him. Frank Sinatra was Larry’s mentor, and started him in this business.
The role is similar to the one he became world famous for, on “Magnum P.I.” And Larry assures us, “There are traces of the character.”
But, even better news for our readers, this will be a recurring role and this show will be his introduction. Larry will shoot the episode starting on Monday, January 28, for a week. And no airdate has been set yet, but our sources tell us, it is possibly February 25. Please know, we’ll keep you posted!
Larry’s one of my dearest friends, and I’m excited to see him return to television, and of all things; Aloha!
