Final Touching Bases With Award-Winning ‘Game Of Thrones’ Showrunners Benioff And Weiss One Day Before The HBO Show’s Third Season, Highlight Hollywood News

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” may be based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels,  and the actors have been mum, seriously mum, like they are suffering from laryngitis whenever asked any details about this third season.  However, Highlight Hollywood caught up with handsome showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss and tried to give them truth serum, but they were too smart to drink it.  So we still tried to get them to talk season three’s “A Storm of Swords,” and this is what we managed to water-board out of them.

They admitted what every journalist in Hollywood figured out three years ago, just why the actors are so tight-lipped about not giving away any secrets of the show.  “There’s a ‘say nothing’ boot camp that they all go to,” Executive Producer D.B. Weiss said.  DavidBenioffDanWeissandGameofThronesCast

Executive Producer David Benioff, who says very little except his name, rank and serial number told Highlight Hollywood, that fans should take hints from the promo clips. “Watch those beautiful trailers, but seriously, this is the one that we’ve been looking forward to for so long because when we read the books, even before we pitched it to HBO, long before we knew it’d be a series, we got to the third book and started calling each other [with] this feverish panic, because we just thought, if we can get this far — there’s so many of our favorite scenes from the whole saga… in this season coming up,” David said.

But, he did manage to admit this season he and creative partners Dan Weiss and George R.R. Martin did have a tougher time to make this season, the most exciting ever, work.DavidBenioffDanWeissThronesSet-1

“It was a tough one to shoot. I mean, we shot in five different countries and some of the scenes were so emotional that we had our crew — and this is a tough, Northern Irish crew, you know — crying on set,” he continued. “But it was all worth it. We’re so happy with the way it turned out.”

But, D.B. Weiss concluded on, “I think that by the time they get to the end of Season 3, our hope is that they will be very satisfied and thrilled and dismayed in equal parts.”

“Game of Thrones” returns with the premiere of Season 3 on Sunday night at 9 PM on HBO.
