Highlight Hollywood’s Leading Ladies Gold Standard: Natalie Dorner, Kerry Washington And Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, Dancing With Danger

This week’s Leading Ladies Gold Standard goes to three gorgeous actresses, who really shined on their shows last week. Two primetime divas and a Bold and Beautiful stunner were tops with Highlight Hollywood’s Editors this week.  We had another tough week whittling down to three, from initially having 12, and four series to choose from.  But, these ladies won our hearts, and this week they each had very different storylines, but it didn’t stop them from proving they are powerful actresses.  British beauty Natalie Dorner, who portrays Margaery Tyrell, the soon-to-be suffering spouse of brute boy king Joffrey on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Kerry Washington, who portrays conniving mistress Olivia Pope on ABC’s “Scandal,” whose fling with the President of the United States is about to send her into a downfall, and sexy stunner Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, who portrays Steffy Forrester on CBS’s soap “The Bold and the Beautiful.” As much as we love her being bad, she’s equally as addictive being good.

Natalie Dorner played doomed Queen Anne Boelyn on the Showtime hit series “The Tudors,” but now the beauty plays yet another conniving wannabe cult-game-of-thrones-margaery-joffrey1monarch, this time to an even more diabolical King than Henry the VIII of England. It’s Joffrey, the First of His Name, who sits on that ugly Iron Throne.  Margaery is conniving, smart, sexy and smooth.  This week we watched as she outwitted Regent Queen Cersei, who went straight to her father, to confirm that Margaery is, “a problem.” In fact, her entire clan seems to be.  The Tyrells want power, and they already have money and land, so Margaery is plotting to become Joffrey’s Queen, and will stop at nothing to get there.  Last season, she told Little Finger, “I don’t want to be a queen, I want to be The Queen.” She’s on her way to doing just that.

But, how long will Margaery’s seduction of the teenage tyrant last? And let’s hope she doesn’t end up the way Dorner’s other character on a competing network ended.  Queen Anne Boelyn was forever separated from her head, so, will Margaery’s fate be the same? Whatever happens, its so entertaining seeing Dorner in this role.

“Game of Thrones” airs Sunday nights on HBO.

Olivia Pope is a real trouble maker, but her portrayer, Kerry Washington is stunning, talented and a great deal of fun.  The film and television actress has propelled herself into superstardom with a real ability as an actress, who also has a unique ability to make the viewer pay great attention to her. She’s like a tango, you can’t help but watch her ever twist and turn, emotionally the ride on “Scandal” goes from zero to fifty in a split second, and only Washington could travel that dangerous highway,  and seemingly never break a sweat.  She’s so fascinating, and the show is superb, and I promise you, the ride is about to get a lot more bumpy, and I bet Kerry Washington won’t miss a turn in the road.
Washington is sizzling hot, and “Scandal” airs on Thursday nights on ABC.

Speaking of sizzling hot, Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, as Steffy Forrester Spencer is on a roll.   Though I have loved seeing Jacquie play a vixen, it’s equally a fascinating and entertaining watching her as a heroine. As pregnant Steffy is now falling even more in love with Liam, this week we watched the two celebrate their marriage and head to beautiful Aspen for their honeymoon. Steffy’s still got that edge, not even a bundle in the oven could make her lose that.  Jacquie is a creative genius, an actress who just seems to get better with time.   Hopefully you’ll be tuned in, because trouble’s definitely coming ahead, but it’s nothing the beautiful actress can’t handle.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays on CBS.
