Highlight Hollywood Predicts Four Big Winners At This Year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, Best Show ‘B&B’ With Kelly Lang Surprise

With the Daytime Emmys just weeks away, Highlight Hollywood editors have been discussing the prospects for this year’s biggest winners.  And we’ll be doing our predictions before the Daytime Emmy Awards air on HLN on Sunday, June 16, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.  However, our editors believe there will be good news for “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and former “The Young and the Restless” showrunner Maria Arena Bell, with a much deserved Emmy Award win for Katherine Kelly Lang on “B&B.”
Although this year, everyone nominated truly deserves to be. There were some omissions this year, and we always regret those.  However, Bradley Bell is sure BradBell004to have the biggest night.  With “General Hospital’s” resurgence, thanks to Frank Valentini, it sure will give Brad some competition next year.  Though this year, it’s definitely his.  Highlight Hollywood editors predict that “The Bold and the Beautiful” will have the night’s top spot as Outstanding Daytime Drama.  Last year’s pivotal and very beautifully written storyline of Stephanie’s death gave Brad the upper-hand.  And he shall be a four-time winner this time around.
Maria Bell also will have a big night, even though Jill Farren Phelps will be in the spotlight, and taking credit for “Y&R’s” enormous nominations.
However, the show is now unwatchable, and for all the slander and attacks Maria Arena Bell took like a lady, she is already vindicated when you see the number of nominations that “The Young and the Restless” received.  It’s amazing to me, but human nature is pretty brutal. When someone is being attacked, people within this industry and humanity itself feeds off of it and continue to attack and harm people.  It’s what I strive with Highlight Hollywood never to do.
Those who complain have no clue what hard work and dedication goes into people making their dreams come true. And we are happy that we backed Maria, and when our friends are attacked, we will stand with them.  William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell were my heroes as a child, and luckily for me, they became two of my most treasured mentors growing up and entering the entertainment business.  So, hopefully Maria’s work stands for itself, and the slander machine will not have harmed her chances at being a big winner on the upcoming Sunday night.
Susan Flannery, who ran out of Hollywood so fast, she left a trail of smoke behind is most definitely this year’s most deserving winner.  So, it may not mean a great deal to Susan, who has bigger things in life, like enjoying her retirement, but her flawless performance last year was impeccable, and sensational.  She even showed us death with dignity, and even as Stephanie closed her eyes for the final time, it gave Brad Bell a kick start for other storylines he’s planning.
SusanFlanneryBeautiful13-300x257Susan is truly a force of nature, and also, Highlight Hollywood hears that the prevailing winds are blowing in Katherine Kelly Lang’s direction as well.  Kelly has been overlooked for decades, but this year is her year, and she will hopefully be receiving the coveted award she’s deserved for years.   Brooke Logan’s standing by long time nemesis Stephanie’s side during her final hours and days was mesmerizing to watch, and played incredibly strong by Lang.
So, here’s to all of this year’s nominees, and the people we think have the best shot at the Daytime Emmy.
