Murray Gershenz, a Los Angeles record store owner who turned to acting late in life and appeared in The Hangover and other films and TV shows, died Wednesday of a heart attack. He was 91.
As Felix in The Hangover (2009), Gershenz disrobes and has his private parts examined in a hilarious hospital scene. In I Love You, Man (2009), he helps form a human pyramid with Paul Rudd, Andy Samberg and Lou Ferrigno.
Gershenz’s first acting role came on a 2001 episode of Will & Grace, and he went on to appear on the TV series Pushing Daisies, The Sarah Silverman Program, House, Parks and Recreation, NCIS: Los Angeles, Raising Hope, Kickin’ It, Mad Men, Sullivan & Son and Modern Family.
His film work included Extreme Movie (2008), Smashed (2012) and this year’s The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
