Andrea Pottyondy takes another FIRST PLACE in the American Art Awards 52  categories. President of www.AmericanArtAwards.com, Thom  Bierdz, explains exclusively to Highlight Hollywood, “Our online contest is  juried by the most renown American galleries but open to artists in all  countries. This sixteenth category, FLORAL NONREALISM, goes to Canadian  Pottyondy, who wins 1ST and 4TH PLACE. She also took 1ST and 3RD PLACE in  EXPRESSIONISM.”

An elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the initiator  of Artspa docent at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Pottyondy is an artist who  sees everyday life in flux but gently evolving. Mediums: acrylics, oils,  pastels, watercolour crayons, ink, handmade papers, found  objects and  printmaking. A Quebec native, she trekked Yukon Territory in the 1980’s and now  lives amongst her family in Nova Scotia. Pottyondy studied art at the  University of Southern California, Nova Scotia  College of Art and  Design.   Pottyondy’s private and corporate collectors are  international but also local – the Nova Scotia Art Bank 2009. Her soothing work  is featured in Nova Scotia’s Contemporary Artists Volume II 2010, International  Women Celebrate, 100  Women Artists Reflect 2011, Arabella Magazine Spring  2013.
