West Los Angeles High-Rise Fire In Progress, 11740 Wilshire Blvd. (Brentwood), Several Units Seem To Be Damaged, Firefighters On Scene, Highlight Hollywood News

Firefighters were responding Friday to blaze at a 25-story residential  high-rise building on the westside of Los Angeles. Heavy smoke was coming from the 11th floor of the building in the 11700 block  of Wilshire Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Brian  Humphrey. Flames and black smoke were coming from one unit, aerial video showed.   Firefighters could be seen on a balcony spraying water into the unit.  One person taken to nearby hospital. 

The blaze was reported at 11:43 a.m., and about 105 firefighters were on  scene within 15 minutes. The fire was several blocks west of the Department of Veterans  Affairs’ West Los Angeles Medical Center.
