Pedro Pascal, who portrays the enigmatic, charismatic and powerful Prince of Dorne, AKA: The Red Viper, is making the rounds this week promoting the best fight scene filmed in TV history.  Previously he told us, that he really had to work hard and even flew to Belfast to take lessons in fighting to make this so real. Now, he vows to fans when he spoke with NBC’s Today Show, that “fans will not be disappointed.” I can assure you, you will not!
In this corner, you have the Mountain, played by sic foot nine inch athlete, who is officially the second-strongest man in the world, and oh, he is a whopping, muscular 420-pounds as well.   Pedro Pascal? Well, he’s my size!  No comparison.

The duel between the Mountain, Gregor Clegane, and the Red Viper, Oberyn Martell. Readers of A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series upon which GoT is based, know the scene is one of the most thrilling in the entire saga, but will the show do the scene justice?
“I would say that fans of the books who are fans of the show have never been dissatisfied over any of the major events,” Pedro Pascal, who portrays Oberyn, tells Today Online…. “And I can assure you they will not be disappointed for this one.” Sounds like a ringing endorsement from the Red Viper himself, who has by all accounts hit his portrayal of the character out of the park thus far.

Pedro also describes what it was like to film the fight scene. The actor says, “We were shooting outside, it’s a pretty large battle and we all wanted to get it right. Nobody got hurt. There were no injuries sustained. There was no heat exhaustion. Everyone was working really hard together and having a great time.”
But, Pedro has great respect for his on-screen nemesis.  “I can definitely say there are zero camera tricks used since the actor is six foot nine and 420 pounds of muscle,” Pedro says. “He (was at) a strong man competition held in China, he came back with the title of third strongest man in the world. Physically, it was intimidating, but he’s a very kind person and we got along beautifully.”
This season’s theme is quite appropriate.  #AllMenMustDie!
