Singer Melissa Etheridge Marries Fiancee Linda Wallem Saturday In Beautiful Montecito, Calif., Highlight Hollywood News
Melissa Etheridge is now taken, and off the market. Though chances are, she’s been for a while now. The singer tied the knot with fiancee Linda Wallem at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif., on Saturday, May 31.
The newlyweds, both 53, said “I do” in the lily garden under an arbor, which was surrounded by red and purple flowers, the source tells Us. Etheridge wore a gray suit while Wallem donned a sparkly dress, and the pair were feted by famous pals like Rosie O’Donnell, Chelsea Handler, and Whitney Cummings.
Etheridge gushed about her wedding day just hours before exchanging vows. “A gorgeous, perfect, beautiful day to get married,” she tweeted.
The “Come to My Window” singer revealed that she was engaged to the actress-producer just after the U.S. Supreme Court declared the Defense of Marriage Act “unconstitutional” back in June 2013.
“Love is love and America is beautiful,” she told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on a recent appearance of his show AC 360. “It’s just an amazing, amazing day. I’m proud to be an American.”
Etheridge and Wallem first began dating in 2010. Etheridge shares 7-year-old twins Johnnie and Miller with ex Tammy Lynn Michaels. She also is mom to daughter Bailey, 17, and son Beckett, 15, from her previous relationship with director Julie Cypher.
