CBS Ordered To Pay $10.4 Million in ‘NCIS’ 2011 Death Lawsuit, Highlight Hollywood News
CBS has been ordered to pay the family of a security guard killed on the set of NCIS $10.4 million. Julio Villamariona, 52, was killed in February 2011 when the driver of a van transporting NCIS crewmembers lost control of the vehicle after having a medical emergency. The driver struck Villamariona, who was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced ead.
Villamariona’s widow and three grown children brought the lawsuit against CBS.
According to TMZ, which first reported news of the verdict, CBS had admitted it should have known about the driver’s medical condition, so at issue was how much in damages the family would receive.
CBS declined to comment.
