On Friday November 7, Omaha Film Historian, Bruce Crawford, will host the 35TH annual tribute to classic films, held at the Jocelyn Art Museum, with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” The special guest and honoree will be the star of the film, actress and humanitarian, Tippi Hedren.
Other honorees at previous Omaha Classic Film Events have included: Debbie Reynolds, Patricia Neal, Janet Leigh, Cloris Leachman, Ray Bradbury, John Landis, and many more. This evening is a benefit for the Omaha Parks Foundation, an organization that restores and builds new parks for the community and schools.
Earlier that day, Ms. Hedren will receive a very distinctive honor, when she is taken to the U.S. Post Office Building, where the Post Master and artist, Nicolosi, will present a Commemorative Envelope and Stamp which has been designed in honor of Ms. Hedren and “The Birds.” In addition, the U.S. Post Master will dedicate the post office as the Tippi Hedren Station for the day.
The actual artwork for the envelope and stamp, which involved numerous images for research of the final depiction, is being kept under wraps until the unveiling.
