#SaveDallas Petitions Making Rounds On Web, CBS Primetime Being Re-Pitched The Series, Highlight Hollywood News

With #SaveDallas hashtag trending on both Twitter and on Facebook, you’d think the TNT series was still on air.  Millions of fans were devastated by the news that TNT was no longer interested in airing the venerable primetime soap, that shot to fame in the 1980s, with the 1980 reveal of Who Shot J.R.?  still being the most widely watched premiere of any fall opening in TV history.  Fans are smart today, and with social media, they are no longer going to sit back and watch their soaps go the way of many before them.  And there’s possibly interest at CBS for the drama that they put on air in the 1970s, and the show to this day that CBS is still celebrating a lot of revenue, as “Dallas” the original series still airs all over the world.

There’s a new petition we were alerted to today by the Dallas: Get the Ewings a new Network Facebook page This one, when you sign it, it will send an alert of your support to the following networks: Netflix; ABC; CBS; NBC, as well as alerts to  Google+ and YouTube.  You can sign it here!

And one of the first online petitions started is still gathering a whopping tens of thousands of signatures, so if you haven’t already, please sign that one here!

TNT’s rash decision may be another network’s answer.  As one of our CBS sources in the primetime division says, “The execs here at the network not only don’t forget how successful ‘Dallas’ was her in the 1980s, but they also were a bit taken back by the success of the TNT version, and how the fans embraced new characters on it, something they didn’t believe possible three-years-ago.”   And we are hearing that the production company is approaching CBS first, and also other networks in the very near future.
So, don’t forget, keep it positive, and don’t forget, “Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing are not finished,” beautiful Linda Gray said earlier this week.
