Beautiful ‘Dynasty’ Star Joan Collins Made A Dame By HM Queen Elizabeth II, Highlight Hollywood News


Arise Dame Joan Collins and Sir John Hurt. The veteran British actors are among the stars honored in the Queen‘s traditional New Year’s Honors list.  Actress and author Collins, best known for her role as Alexis Carrington in Dynasty and the older sister of author Jackie Collins, receives the award for her services to charity. The 81-year-old is involved with a number of children’s charities in the U.K. Collins told the BBC that she was “delirious, thrilled, excited and very honored” about being recognized for her charity work.



“There’s nothing to compare to being a Dame and getting that kind of accolade from my country and my Queen. I am very patriotic and quite a Royalist so it is extraordinary”, she told the BBC.

Collins  joins other acting dames including Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews, Angela Lansbury, Maggie Smith, Angelina Jolie and the late Elizabeth Taylor.
