Former U.S. President George HW Bush Released From Hospital, Highlight Hollywood News

Former President George H.W. Bush has been released from a Texas hospital seven days after being admitted for having trouble breathing.   “He is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care,” his spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement this afternoon.

The 90-year-old former president was rushed to Houston’s Methodist Hospital on Dec. 23 after experiencing a shortness of breath earlier that evening.

President Bush was kept in the facility through Christmas though his spokesman regularly reported that he was in good spirits and the additional observation periods were done out of an abundance of caution.

Bush’s most recent public appearance came in November when he attended an event at Texas A&M University with his son, fellow former President George W. Bush.

The elder President Bush was diagnosed with a thyroid condition called Graves Disease during his presidency when he was hospitalized for an irregular heartbeat.

More recently, he was admitted for bronchitis and a chronic cough in 2012.
