NBC’s ‘Peter Pan Live!’ A Smash Hit, Christopher Walken A Riot, Allison Williams Becoming A Terrific Actress, Highlight Hollywood News

Peter Pan Live! - Season 2014
NBC’s second chance at bringing viewers live television and live theater brought Peter Pan to life, reinvented Captain Hook with Christopher Walken stealing the show, though no one expected any less of the Oscar-winning character actor.
Also, an award-worthy performance by Allison Williams giving a very solid performance that, probably embarrassed her TV news anchor dad Brian Williams a little less than her work on HBO’s Girls.

But the night belonged to Chris Walken, who was s playing himself, as he often does, and playing Captain Hook as a secondary role. However, I can believe I’m telling a seasoned actor this advice. Christopher, “breathe!”

All evening however, it was Williams and Walken that kept stealing the show, so to speak.   Everything that could go wrong didn’t go wrong and that’s a credit the myriad people behind the scenes who pulled it off.

However, some of the musical numbers were not really powerful, nor did they add much to the story.   It’s a bit surprising that NBC wasn’t thinking about that a lot more.   However, if ratings pan out overnight, you can expect more live shows for NBC in the future.
