HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is the biggest TV show in history. It even merited a mention by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom days ago for her Christmas 2014 Speech. But, why are fans so rabid about it? The fact that morality and goodness are so ambiguous? That a hero doesn’t always come out alive? You remember The Red Wedding, I take it? That brutality is even welcomed on the brutal themselves? Remember the Purple Wedding? Well, in all of the dire circumstances our favorites face, from Jon Snow at The Wall, Dany the Mother of Dragons in the East, desperate to return to her homeland of Westeros and to take back The Iron Throne, to Sansa struggling for salvation to Arya’s dark path down to the City of Braavos, where she learns that All Men Must Die?Well, all of this and the battles between Houses Baratheon, Lannister, Stark, Targaryen, are all up in the air. But what is definite to viewers and book readers, is that Winter is Coming. And when it comes in earnest, anyone North or possibly South of The Wall will be worse than dead.Last season we watched in horror and excitement as The Wildling Army, including Wargs and Giants, Northern men from dozens of clans fought the Night’s Watch to get South of The Wall. If viewers wonder why this group would commit suicide virtually to get South of The Wall before Winter comes, just remember the White Walkers, the most mysterious and lethal race on the planet that we know of, are on the march to The Wall. Do they bring Winter? Or do they come when Winter arrives? We’re soon to find out.
Also, will The Great Wall, built by the late Brandon Stark “The Builder” over 8,000-years-ago to stop the White Walkers, be strong enough to halt their approach? Though the wall is 800 feet tall, 500-miles long, my guess is, don’t count on The Wall being able to stop them. They come with spiders the size of hounds, they come with the ability to kill anyone and reanimate the corpses into Wights, essentially killing machine for them. They also have an icy touch, that as we know, can kill, or can even turn men into White Walkers. So, how does one defeat such a mighty race? The Wildling Army Fought To Get South Of The Wall In Last Season’s “Watchers On The Wall,” Click on the LINK BELOW:
