Paparazzo Arrested After Ryan Reynolds Hit-And-Run Over The Weekend In Vancouver

Vancouver Police have taken a 52-year-old photographer into custody in connection with a hit-and-run incident in a downtown hotel parking lot involving actor Ryan Reynolds on Friday.

The actor was not injured in the incident and returned to work on the Vancouver set of his new film, Deadpool.

“After considering a variety of options and criminal charges, police arrested a 52-year-old Richmond resident and have recommended charges of intimidation. He is currently in custody,” Vancouver Police said Monday in a statement. According to the police account, Reynolds was approached shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening by a photographer in the secured underground parking lot at the Shangri La Hotel.

“During the confrontation, the driver struck the victim with his car as he fled the lot. There were no significant injuries sustained as a result of the contact,” the police said in the statement. Vancouver police interviewed Reynolds and witnesses, and inspected security footage from the hotel as part of their investigation.
