Watch Episode Of 1950s Western ‘Trackdown,’ Ep. Titled ‘Shakedown” Walter Trump Promises To Build A Wall, (VIDEO)
Yeah, with so much fake news going around, you know, from creepy Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s father being involved with the assassination of President Kennedy to President Barack Obama not being born in Hawaii but that dark Continent of Africa, Kenya specifically. Funny, how the snake oil salesman who trafficked in “fake news” and “conspiracies” has finally become the focus of his own “Birther” story of sorts. Donald J. Trump is nothing but a racist conman, a “slick New York City conman” as my Southern maternal Grandmother used to call many of them. But according to SNOPES, there was a Western called “Trackdown” in the 1950s on TV.
We did a little research and “Trackdown” in fact had an episode titled “Shakedown,” which featured a conman, a corrupt liar and fraud, who promised a small town that only “he could save their town and the world,” but needed to build a wall around it. Don’t laugh, it’s true. Just enjoy the episode below, and if you don’t believe your “lying eyes,” you can verify it by SNOPES here!
The television series Trackdown really did produce an episode featuring a “Trump” character who came to town claiming that only he could prevent the end of the world by building a wall (and also sold special force propelling umbrellas to deflect meteorites). The episode (S1, E30) aired on CBS in 1958 and was titled “The End of the World,” featuring actor Lawrence Dobkin playing the role of “Walter Trump.” A synopsis of the episode from the Classic TV Archive.
