I can’t think of a better way to enjoy summertime than reading anything that Megan Edwards has written, and this page-turner debut novel of hers is one you have to pick up. And if you are local to Southern California, you can meet her as well.Megan_Edwards
“What would you do if all your stuff went up in smoke?” Megan Edwards knows. In 1993, her house burned to the ground, one of the first in the great Altadena wildfire. She was forced into “stufflessness” years before Marie Kondo first told us to discard any item that doesn’t bring joy. Instead of rebuilding, she, her husband and their dog set off on a six-month road trip in a big custom-built motor home. Six months turned into six years, ending in Las Vegas.
On June 21, Edwards will share how following her dream took her from being a school principal and local columnist to a Las Vegas expert and full-time author whose debut novel, Getting Off on Frank Sinatra: A Copper Black Mystery, was just published (Imbrifex, 2017). “… an assured fiction debut…amusing” – Publishers Weekly  Talk, book signing and reception Wednesday, June 21, 7:00 p.m. at Flintridge Books, 1010 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011. www.flintridgebooks.com
Megan Edwards is the author of the travel memoir Roads from the Ashes, the humor book Caution: Funny Signs Ahead, and her debut novel Getting off on Frank Sinatra. She has lived and traveled extensively in Europe and spent nearly seven years “on the road” all over North America. Now at home in Las Vegas, Nevada, she is working on her next novel.

“No one was more surprised than I was that Las Vegas felt like home to me,” she says. She quickly learned that living in Las Vegas is very different from visiting Las Vegas. Enchanted by this unlikely metropolis in the desert, she founded Living-Las-Vegas.com, a site dedicated to “real life in the shadow of the Strip.”
