The president’s overall approval rating remains historically low at just 38 percent, according to Gallup. Trump is on track to spend three straight weeks with a sub-40 percent rating.
The CBS News survey also finds that 73 percent of Americans say they both want Trump to fight less with the mainstream media and stop making Democrats and liberals mad.
Those polled overwhelmingly (84 percent) want the president to work toward improving infrastructure by building roads and bridges. Seventy-five percent said they want Trump to work more closely with Democrats.
After the Senate’s failure to repeal and replace Obamacare last week, the new poll shows that 47 percent of Americans want Republicans and Democrats to move on and work together to fix the already in place health care act, rather than continuing to fight in Congress.
When it comes to Trump’s handling of health care, most of those polled say they don’t agree with of how he’s handled the push to restructure such a major part of the U.S. economy — with 62 percent disapproving and just 38 percent approving.
