Downed Lines Knock Out Power To 2,000 In Beverly Grove Area, Expected To Be Back On Before Midnight

A power outage caused by downed wires and a tree fire knocked out electricity to nearly 2,000 Department of Water and Power customers in the Beverly Grove area Wednesday. The outage was reported about 6:35 p.m., according to the DWP. Traffic-near-Beverly-CenterIt was not immediately clear if the wires were downed by the fire or if they caused it, according to a DWP official who said crews were working on repairs and hoped to have service restored to the 1,976 affected customers by 10 p.m
