Major Earthquake Rattles Southern California Early Tuesday Morning

A major earthquake rolled through the Beaumont area early Tuesday morning waking residents from their beds. Did YOU feel it?  The preliminary magnitude was reported as a 4.6 and was located near Cabazon, according to the U.S.G.S. FathersDayInBeverlyHillsThe exact location was:

  • 6.8 mi) N of Cabazon
  • 8.1 mi) NE of Banning
  • (11.8 mi) W of Morongo Valley
  • 19.9 mi) NW of Palm Springs
  • 26.1 mi) ENE Moreno Valley
  • 30.4 mi) ESESan Bernardino
  • 62.1 mi) SSE Barstow

The quake was felt locally throughout the Banning Pass and Riverside County — and as far away as Orange, San Diego and Los Angeles counties. This shaker comes on the heels of a large quake that rattled Los Angeles County at the beginning of April.
