With the Anthony and Joe Russo-directed blockbuster crossing the $2 Billion mark at the worldwide ticket booth – a feat only ever achieved thrice before: Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068B), Titanic ($2.187B) and Avatar ($2.788) – the nineteenth MCU entry can now not only lay claim to a plethora of box office records but a viral one, as well.
This past weekend, the first trailer for Infinity War reached 200 million views on the official Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, making it the most-watched single upload of a movie trailer in the history of the video-sharing website. Pretty impressive, eh?
Having earned an unprecedented $250 Million in North America opening weekend stateside, and subsequently becoming the fastest film to reach the $1 Billion mark the film also has the MCU closing in on $17 billion grossed worldwide, further cementing the cinematic universe for a long tenure as the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.
