Weekend Box Office: ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ To Bring Best Labor Day Holiday Numbers In A Decade With $26M

Warner Bros.’ Crazy Rich Asians is closing out the summer 2018 box office in style.

The Jon M. Chu-directed rom-com is expected to earn another $5 million on Friday for a projected four-day Labor Day gross of $24 million-$26 million — the third best Labor Day behind Halloween ($30.6 million) in 2007 and The Sixth Sense ($29.3 million) in 1999, not adjusted for inflation, according to early Friday returns.

Crazy Rich Asians will have no trouble staying atop the chart in its third weekend as it jumps the $100 million mark domestically.

Warner Bros. will also take the No. 2 spot with The Meg. The hit shark pic is projected to gross another $11 million for the four days.
