After an investigation, the police found probable cause to arrest Stanton on one count of battery domestic violence, and she was taken to Clark County Detention Center.
“Amanda is embarrassed and ashamed this happened and sincerely apologizes to hotel security and the Las Vegas Police Department,” Steve Honig, a representative for Stanton, said in a statement. “Amanda is a gentle, respectful person who has never gotten physical with anyone under any circumstance. That evening she had a few drinks at a bachelorette party and when hotel security asked her and Bobby to quiet down, she got a bit rambunctious. Amanda gave Bobby what she thought was a playful shove; hotel security did their job and reported the incident to the police, who in turn did their job. Despite Bobby explaining this was not an ill-intended shove, the police still had to do their job which Amanda completely respects and understands.”
Stanton was a contestant on season 20 of The Bachelor starring Ben Higgens, where she stayed in the competition until week eight. Stanton then reappeared in the third season of Bachelor in Paradise, where she accepted contestant Josh Murray’s proposal; the engagement ended in December 2016. On Bachelor in Paradise season four, she split in the fourth week.
Stanton also had a cameo on the current season of Bachelor in Paradise, which airs its reunion show on Tuesday night.
As an actress, Stanton has appeared in The Cheetah Girls 2 and Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh.
