Original ‘Halloween’ Remastered Set for 40th Anniversary Theatrical Rerelease

While Laurie Strode is getting ready to square off against Michael Myers in the 2018 seuqel by David Gordon Green,  moviegoers will get a chance to see where it all began.

John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween is getting a 40th anniversary theatrical rerelease on select screens worldwide beginning Sept. 27.

The reissue comes from CineLife Entertainment, which partnered with Compass International Pictures and Trancas International Films for the run, which is set for theaters in the U.S., the U.K., France, Canada and Australia, among other territories.

The rerelease will be a restored and remastered digital print, created under the supervision of original cinematographer Dean Cundey.

“I’m thrilled to have the original make its way back into theaters as we prepare for the release of the sequel,” said Carpenter. “Having both back in theaters this fall is remarkable.”
