Sony Pictures Television is making sure the faces of two of TV’s longest-running game shows remain right where they are.
Wheel of Fortune duo Pat Sajak and Vanna White and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek have renewed their deals with producers Sony TV through 2022. The new contracts help keep their respective shows on the air through the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively.
“Pat, Vanna and Alex are simply the best. Night after night, they seamlessly entertain generations of fans on two of the most beloved television programs on air. We are thrilled that they’ll continue to do so through 2022,” recently installed SPT chairman Mike Hopkins said Wednesday in a statement.
The new contracts arrive as Jeopardy is currently in its 35th season in syndication and ranks as the Guinness World Record holder for most Emmy wins by a TV game show (34).
Wheel, meanwhile, is the most-watched program in syndication with more than 26 million weekly viewers, per Nielsen. Since its debut in 1983, the show has been licensed and produced in more than 45 international territories. Sony also inked streaming deals for Jeopardy with both Hulu and Netflix.
By the end of the their current seasons, Jeopardy and Wheel will have produced more than 15,000 episodes.
Sony TV produces both series, which are distributed by CBS TV Distribution.
