The fire ignited Sunday afternoon in an area with little road access, which means the fire may grow as crews try to respond, according to a CalFire representative.

The fire was at 40 acres as of 3:24 p.m., according to CalFire’s Twitter page, and less than a half hour later had grown to 75 acres. As of 5:45 p.m., it had reached  210 acres with 50 percent containment and forward progress stopped..

Containment reached 70 percent just before 7 p.m., and crews were committed to remaining on scene to continue and monitor progress into Sunday night.

The San Jose Fire Department is also assisting with the response.
