BIO OF 1ST PLACE WINNER DARIUS HULEA: My name is Darius Hulea, I am 32 years old and I was born in the city Alba Iulia, Roumania, a city full of historical monuments. I finished University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca / Sculpture Department: Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. In high school I drew almost daily what I saw in front of my eyes, statues and historic buildings, probably to learn and to know each detail of the subject itself. In the faculty the drawing has become a much freer study, one reaches the front of the directly three-dimensional studies, replacing the line drawn by a sheet of paper pencil, with a line in the volume of iron wire data of all types . In this sense, this is how drawing on paper is understood with data of intensity of thickness and my refinement can be created, it has a load and metal bars of different thickness in relation to each contour / profile.

They create 3D for each study; new faces or armor were increasingly easier to model, such as the “human skeleton”, the supporting clay for the volume already shelled. In that structure, once completed, you see all the time a careful care not yet finished / a circle at the creation I have not yet reused to capture all the details.

I started these three-dimensional drawings once for each study, another iron reinforcement had to be made – that reinforcement takes place of a “human skeleton” in modeling, to support the clay on different volumes. For this activity it is almost 8/10 hours a day, and then there is still time to dedicate to the other works already made for an outline or the new story, allowing me to change the outline through our lines, which will now yield another topic. I always liked the iron because it allows me to return over the welded surfaces, and with great ease completely changed that volume. Now they are no longer limited to the same forms of care needed in addition to the already concrete sides in terms of stones, they are free for all plans and under infinite dimensions.

I have participated in many exhibitions here in Romania and abroad.
